Honda Accord 93se getting 3000 rpm at 70 mph
I just acquired a 93 Accord SE and when I get on the freeway, it reaches 3000 rpm at only 70 mph, at 80 mph it goes up to 3500 rpm, but idles fine at about 750 rpm. I have driven several Honda Accords 90-93 models and they all usually do 70 mph at 2500 rpms and 80 mph at 3000 rpms. I still own a 96 Accord LX which I drive daily and it does 70 mph at 2500 rpms and 80 mph at 3000 rpms.
Is there something wrong with my 93 SE or is this normal on the SE model?
If there is something wrong, can someone tell me what and what to do?
Will this affect my miles per gallon of gas?
Will this mess up my engine or transmission in future or somewhere down the line?
Thanks for reading!!

All cars are made differently as far as power and gas mileage. Usually the more powerful engines are geared up more for better performance but less fuel economy. Your for example is like mine ( 94 Accord EX ) where its geared for better gas mileage but tops out quicker. Theres really nothing to be concerned about.
