Default AEM CAI power question....read first pls

Ok, I just want a nice daily driver & "Once-in-a-Bluemoon" strip car, plain and simply....and a raod racer in my dreams . I've been doing my research on several sites including here and i'm torn between the AEM CAI & V2 intake.

My question is, which one has the better OVERALL powerband for the street and strip?? Which one smoothes out the powerband the best???

I've seen several dyno graphs and just having a hard time trying to figure out which one has a better powerband, since everyone's car & dyno graph is different.

My engine, D16z6, has a a built head that I bought off a friend, I believe it has a Stage 1 or 2 Crower cam, VX tranny <---will swap out soon, MSD wires, 4 degrees of timing advance, and a B16 throttle body.

Thanks guys.

Supposedly V2 uses a dyno-proven dual-chamber design that creates an aircharge (there's physics behind this, and I can vouch for that), but there are not a whole lot of non-bias tests involving V2 vs. AnyOtherCAI. I would say that yes, V2 does outperform normal CAIs, but to what degree, that's entirely debatable. You can bet that it's not LESS powerful, though.

Well if money's not a problem, then go with the v2. But if you are on a budget, forget aem (unless you can get a used one cheap), and just buy an ebay intake and get a k&n or aem filter for it.

Don't be a bitch.........if i really wanted too, i could just attach a pipe to my 3.5inch short ram intake.....but if there's something out there that performs best overall then i'd rather have that

AEM is a waste of money IMO.

200 dollars for an intake is BS.....especially when Injen outperformed it!

I have used AEM cold-air, AEM short ram, Injen Cold-air, generic 3'' ebay shorty...and now I am using a fake J's racing intake I got for 60 shipped. Best intake out of all of them! I wouldn't use anything else....

It really doesn't matter anyway....it's an intake!!!

your ideal option should be, save your 200 from the intake, and save up for a b series

Yep the V2 is the best option for you if you're comfortable with the cost. It does outperform all other cold air intakes including the Injen and everyone's favorite "whale *****". Some people say it's not worth it because "it's just an intake" but those people aren't you and aren't looking for what you are, nor are they able to appreciate proven engineering principles over back yard engineering. Price is a subjective argument when discussing an item's worth so again don't let that argument affect your better judgment.

I think that if your planning on making a 250-300 HP Single Cam your going to need the very best...AEM V2 is the very best. bottom line
