Default Fuel Injectors

I have a 97 Accord 4 Door SE and I was wondering out of curiousity, if it was possible to clean out the fuel inejectors for your car. Other than using "clean burning gas" is there a way to clean it physically like cleaning our your EGR. Im going to clean out my EGR this weekend if it stops raining in Southern Cali. Since I'm removing the fuel rail and the fuel injectors are exposed is there a simple way of cleaning it? I've seen dealerships offer a cleaning job for $150+? Just trying to save some money. Gas prices are driving me insane.

With a little elbow grease you can do it yourself

The best way is to have it done by a shop http://www.witchhunter.com
for $12 each.

I just cleaned my EGR and injectors today. It was quite easy. First off you would want to remove the fuel rail there is about 4-5 bolts all 10mm. After that you just slide it off your injectors should pull out at the same time. At the end of your injectors is a clip, which is a pain in the ***, use a flat head screwdriver for that. Clean each injector by hand and also remember to clean the inside of the injectors too. My friend was able to clean them with an air compressor, a brake cleaner, some "white gas" supposedly it cleans everything it touches and it did a great job cleaning it, and finally something to poke the tip of the injector so a cleaning fluid can flow through. We held down the injectors and sprayed some cleaning fluid in it then sprayed it all out with an air compressor. While you are at it might as well clean your EGR =]

think it would be alright if i sprayed some engine degreaser on the EGR to brake up the build up? That liquid is flammable so i guess it wouldnt do any harm if it gets sucked into the engine by the IM.

yeah spray some of that and use a brush. Try a tooth brush rather than a wire brush beware because if you scratch the cover of your EGR good enough it will leak exhaust gases. That seems like fun =] It took me a good 1-2 hours to do all this have fun. There was good weather today in OC
