Mount Recommendations
It's time for new motor mounts. I want something that's not going to rattle me to death, but I need it to be able to hold my turbo Y7 still.
I'm thinking I may go with poly inserts, but I want some recommendations.

I have a friend that went to penn-tech, so he knows a lot of good car knowledge (even though he dropped out!). he told me how much more effieciently engines put down power all due to the poly inserts. I thought that was bs, but aren't race cars engines bolted directly to the frame?? i heard that one time too.
anyway that is the stuff i heard about poly inserts, but from my experience with it it does make a lot more vibration, but it is a good vibration. like the rumble of a V-8, ya know - good vibrating. i have hasport mounts on my civic w/ an h22 and i like it a lot more than stock mounts, so my vote says hasport mounts, or just get the poly inserts!

^ i mentioned the race cars engines bolted to the frame b/c the less movement from the motor the better. so the stiffer the mount the better. I guess the motor is waisting energy rocking around with softer mounts, and with stiffer mounts the energy is forced to stay still. this is hard to explain but picture a drill wobling around like crazy. it is just a lot harder to drill something in b/c the drill is going nuts. but if you man up and hold the drill steady it works like butter. get it??
I have poly inserts,a prothane race mount(driver's side)and a jdmshit mount for the tranny. My car vibrates alot,i wouldn't reccomend it for a street car.
Just get the inserts.
Just get the inserts.

ES rear insert is all you need to stiffen the engine a tad and not be too stiff. I have ES front torques and rear inserts. Very rattly and kind of annoying to most people- not to me obviously. I noticed a nice difference in throttle response and shifting

Went and picked up the ES mount inserts today and I LOVE them. I haven't put in the rear one (did the 2 lower torque mounts first and didn't feel like fighting with the rear mount bolt). With just the torque mounts in, there is a noticed increase of rattling at idle, but it's nothing I can't life with, and there seem to be virtually no motor movement between shifts or under acceleration.
Best 45 dollars I've spend in a long time (I know I could have gotten them cheaper on here, but my local shop had them on hand).
