I have 3 points against my driving record. This increased my insurance 65%. I had crashed my R a few weeks ago. I found out in NC any accident that is your fault is 3 points against your record. This will make 6 points which increases ins. 150%. That is assuming I can get out of the wreckless driving ticket which is 3 more point on top of that. 9 points is a 260% increase.

That would be $4320 a year....Which is $360 a month, which is almost as much as my car payment.

 

Citizens tried to raise my rates to $6400/year.

Needless to say, I dumped themm, I'm now paying ~$3100 w/ Progressive

Wow! I wouldn't be able to afford that kind of price for insurance. I am only paying $800 a year for full coverage but I have no points either

I am 20. With no points against me it was $1200 yr. My mistake was paying the tickets....I should have got a lawyer.

For a DX????? What year? I was thinking about getting a 93-95 civic and doing a swap to lower insurance. Of course I wouldn't let the insurance know what was under the hood.

Is Progressive good to naught drivers? (i.e. if you've got some crap on your record, are they conservative on the premiums?)

 

i advice you people with high insurance to get another car and use that as your primary car. This is what i did, and it is a lot cheaper to insure 2 cars with the R as the recreational car than the one.

I pay 1214/year for my corrolla and R. before i was paying 16xx.

We pay for ever hp and cars with lots of hp like the R is expensive! Hell! Peoples always look at you when you tell them "my car has 190hp". The normal car useres hav 70-120 hp here. Even a cop roll his eys when they read 190hp in the cars paper. ********

Haha, I got all you beat. I pay $3600 a year with shitty Mercury insurance on my 91 CRX DX. If I went for AAA it would have been around $4900.

 

man oh man, that's it, I live in NJ with 8 points and my insurance is $8000 a year, beat that, but thank god I dropped from my insurance put it under my parents and under the insurance my mom is driving the car now its $1600 a year (much better)
