FELPRO HeadGasket
does anyone know if FELPRO makes a good headgasket, its from autozone?
it cost about $65 with 3month warrenty, special order.
are they are good company to deal with or to buy gaskets from?
has anyone used it before? results?
ps: dont tell me to get a oem honda headgasket, because that is not the question

3 month warranty....hmmm...i dont think i want to pull the head for the sake of gettin a new HG if the one im using dies prematurely.
more than likely its only if warratied for use on OEM motors, not a boosted race motor.

Fel-pro is one of the leading gasket making companies on the market and they do make high quality stuff. They're better known in the domestic world but I would certainly use one myself so if factoy isn't an option, get the Fel-pro

They make good ****, they make the gaskets for most of the NASCARS so I'm sure you little Honda will be fine using one. Used one on my car and haven't had any problems.

Im sure they are good. But why? Id just use a OEM honda headgasket. All the super high hp cars use them, they work great, and are pretty cheap.
Also the few Felpro gaskets i saw werent metal, they were composite
- you want to use a metal headgasket.

You're nuts bro.
GS-R motor on boost = Cometic head gasket.
I would not trust Fel-Pro with my Honda engine. Anyone who wants to talk **** to me feel free to be ignored. I've never had a problem with Fel-Pro, but I also trust OE Honda and Cometic for boosted applications because they've been proven many times over on Hondas.
Same reason I won't use some aftermarket cap, rotor button, or wires on my engine...

where is the ignore feature anyway? After that insiteful (read useless) post, I'd like to use it.
Back to the point, honda doesn't make their gaskets with any special design or materials. Fel Pro is often used in serious domestic applications which our B or D blocks will more than likely never touch as far as power, don't worry. These guys know what they're doing.

Yes go ahead and boost a GS-R engine with a normal head gasket - be my guest.

Oh and Crower has been making cams for God knows how long for domestics, but their Honda VTEC cams suck *** and break frequently. I don't give a **** how long some US domestic company has been "making gaskets" or whatever, it doesn't mean they'll be the best choice for a Honda.

i would go with comestic, it's proven. felrpo, i dug one out of my parts closet that i had on an intake manifold.. ahh shrug, this i/m was on a boosted sohc and looks fine after 10k. Shrug.. whatever.. just buy a comestic and stay away from if's and what if's.

No wonder you've got so many posts, arguing against something that I didn't even mention. Good call.
And there's a big freakin difference between a camshaft that spins around 8 or 9k times a minute and a hunk of metal that sits there.

i have boosted a oem honda headgasket and a cosmetic headgaset before, both work well, but in my position i only have access to a felpro headgasket and for the price, i have no if's, FELPRO is a well known company with quality things, i will go ahead and try it, it probably will work wonderfullly, if not, im out of luck, i dont see why i wouldnt use FELPRO, i dont always have to jump on the bandwagon and use wat everyone else is using, i have confidence in my decision and with FELPRO
I would never trust anything but a OEM honda gasket for my turbocharged honda. However honda doesnt make a metal headgasket for the ZC, so im using a HKS which has worked fine so far. But in your case id use a honda.

we sell lots of felpro at work and never had any sort of problems.
But for a head gasket i would more likely get an oem gasket just cuz ur dealing with something you dont want to do again and you cant go wrong with it.
I seem a few comteic gasket fit like ****.
