Making sure I don't miss anything swapping a motor from an integra to a dx coupe
i have to make a swap from an integra to a 95 civic dx coupe, the integra was complete and running but has had some trouble and then in the end got flooded so im going to transfer everything from the integra to the civic...anyone that knows me can vouch that my integra is CURSED!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cannot take it anymore, i love the car, i like the way it looks and everything but it's over.
can i get some help so that i dont miss anything for this transition, as now i will only have one car and be borrowing a car until done. i need to have as little down time as possible and cant afford to have to be needing things mid process.
thanks for your assistance.

First of all, you need to be very specific or no one will be able to fully answer that. What year Integra is this swap coming from? I assume it's an OBD1 LS setup or GSR setup so the install isn't all that difficult.
here is what you need:
1. Aftermarket B-series mount kit or stock Integra mounts (only 94-01 Integra mounts). Do not reuse any factory mounts if they are old or torn.
2. Replace the clutch and throwout bearing.
2. Use an OBD1 LS or GSR ecu if you have an older GSR swap. Must be OBD1 if you are running an OBD 1 setup or OBD2 motorswap. Either way you will need to add a knock sensor clip to your stock civic harness for LS motors having a knock sensor. OBD2 swap will require harness modification for injector clips, etc., and you may need to add wires and find the pinouts. (if you have the Integra harness, I am almost 100% positive that it will clip into your stock DX harness at the shock tower, but you will need to add the knock wire to the other harness. Or just try and use the whole LS harness down to the ecu - That is what i did for my Type R swap in my 1992 SI but I was using an older GSR harness so I didn't need to modify Vtec)
3. New timing belt, all new seals, water pump, cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires. You may even wanna tap the oil pan for a turbo drain line later on down the road and just cap it for now.
It's a very straightforward swap. The hardest part is the harness and it is not even that hard for you to do.
My suggestions are:
1. First, Try to use the whole Integra harness down to the ecu. Only if it is OBD1.
2. Next, i would try and use the engine harness from the Integra and plug it into your Civic harness at the shock tower. Then add the extra wires to the Civic hanress down to the ECU. I believe the only wire you will have to add to your civic harness is the Knock Sensor wire, but there may be more.
3. Last, modify your stock harness.

everything is coming from a 92 integra gsr...the motor will be rebuilt again.
what things wont crossover---?
need exhaust, and gauge cluster (no tach!)

Well, this is going to be harder than you thought now.
1. You will need an aftermarket mount kit I am almost positive.
2. The harness I think it still OBD1 since it's a 92 which will be just fine, but I'm not sure that you can use the Integra one now. But I know 1994-1995 OBD1 Integra ones you can.
3. You will need to ditch the tranny on it and get a Hydro one since your civic one is a hydro transmission right now.
I know they make kits that convert from cable to hyrdo, but check to see if they have hydro to cable conversions. This is an *** backwards approach and I almost wanna say that they don't make a kit to convert it like this, but check all of that info out. Go to http://www.hasport.com or http://www.placeracing.com for mount kit information. If they make it, then keep the Integra tranny that is on it, but if it is a 1992 transmission, that thing has got to be beat. Who wants a fresh motor with an old tranny mounted to it? If it's a money issue, then beat the tranny, then replace it. my .02
GOOD LUCK!

ah yes...the transmission too...think i got a trade w/ a friend for a 2000 b16a for my ys1.
i will miss my 92 gsr transmission, best geared ratio of any tranny honda ever made.

it is a nice tranny, but not the best. But they are a pretty rare find now days.
