H22A Cambelt Service - Doesn't Feel Right
I'll be brief:
I have a 97 (5th gen) 2.2 Prelude.
Car is on 63,000 miles
Claimed cambelt change at 40,000 miles (previous owner)
Noise coming from cambelt area.
Presumed to be belt auto tensioner.
Decided to get a cambelt service to be safe.
New balancer, cambelt, tensioner, idler puller fitted by Honda.
Car now feels different to before-
Vibration resonating through car.
low rumble/humming, increases as engine revs increase.
Told by Honda Technician caused by new parts. Wait 500 miles for new parts to wear in.
Does anyone have any similar experiences?

does it make a whinning noise? i have the same problem what it is, is your timing belt being too tight. the installer didnt install it with the right tension.
Not so much a whinning - more like a humming or rumble, like I have a loud exhaust.
So, does the belt require to be put on to a required tension?
I thought the tensioner was auto adjusting?

Did you use a Honda Dealership repair shop to have this done? (not needed if you know a really good mechanic and/or shop)
If not most secondary (scams and/or shady) repair shops dont use good parts, they maybe new but they are really crappy (universal not made for that car but will fit). I have even see shops use used parts and say they put in new. Or just never change them but charge for it.
This also can be done by the belt being way too tight. If the self adj. is not right or the pully bolt is too tight, this can happen.
I have even seen this happen because the got a DHOC off, so the cams were not set right.
