obd2a-obd1 harness /VS/ obd2b-obd1 harness?? H E L P
im am soon to convert my car from obd2 to obd1...
however, while shopping around for a harness i noticed a differentiation between obd2a-obd1 harness and obd2b-obd1 harnesses.
i am about to buy a skunk 2 harness from a friend of mine, but the problem is i dont know if its obd2a-obd1 or obd2b-obd1...
i have a 98 teg so am i correct to assume that it is obd2a??
i was wondering. is there any way these harnesses are interchangeable?? ie: an obd2b-obd1 harness on an obd2a teg.
how do i tell the difference? how do i identify? should i just try to plug it up?
thanks for the help in advance fellas-

First, your car is OBD2a as you suspected. Second, they aren't interchangeable, so you'll need the proper harness for your car. If you follow this link, you'll find pinout diagrams for both OBD2a and OBD2b ECU's. By comparing them to the harness in question, you should be able to determine which version it is pretty easily.
