a friend of one of my employees has a 1989 Canadian market Si hatch; metric speedo, pillar belts, etc.

but it's an automatic. i have never seen an automatic trans in an Si before; was this a factory option? or did somebody do a conversion? i do know it's an Si, not a DX with Si badges, 'cause it's got a sunroof and D16...

just curious...

 

Well in the US I believe they weren't available, don't know about Canada.

 

i'd either asume that it was a DX with all that stuff added and the D16.
Or it was an SI and the owner broke his leg

I've never heard of auto SI in US or Canada. I must doubt it came from the factory but if they existed please someone enlighten me.

 

As everyone who owns an 89-91 Si knows the cars were built in Canadia land. Look and the oil filler and cap. Huile

yeah, DX was my first thought too, but who would add the factory sunroof? it seems like a lot of trouble, especially since they'd have had to swap the entire roof panel...
