Installed a aftermarket water temp and oil pres guages in my 90 HB and cant seem to get the right size adapters for the block. I managed to get the oil press. to work thanks to the help of some W-D-40 a wrench and another engine block I had on the stand but no luck with the water temp any1 kknow what size adapter this needs and where can I get one. All the auto parts stores say the fitings are pipe thread and should work but no luck yet.
The location for the water temp sending unit is to the left of the oil press port, correct? I did find what appears to be another sending unit for the water in the head just under the distributor but my sending unit is quite a bit larger to go there.
PLZ HELP

 

block is 1/8"NPT for water temp and 1/8" bpt for the oil pressure.
