I finally bit the bullet and purchased a full race bar for my b16 crx and let me tell, you this thing is pure sex, i have about 5 maybe 6 inches of clearance between the block and the bar. Also they have mounts for both the eg style radiator and the full size radiator, the eg radiator still sat too tall on the rad mounts they include, but i was able to zip tie the radiator to the bar, and zip tie it to the top to keep it from going anywhere.

So if anybody was wandering about fit and finish

on a scale of 1-10
looks - 10
fit - 10
header/downpipe clearance - 10
ground/clearance - 10 (this bar is clears better than the stock peice
ease of installation -10 (they didnt include instructions but this thing was a cinch to install)

I cant vouch for improvements yet since im still working out the bugs from my turbo install but i so far so good. I was able to get mine for 415 shipped!
