Well yesterday I went to the auto parts store like 5 times, I kept looking at the back of the box and it stated that the installation kit was for a 1973 - 1991 civic, WTF did they all of a sudden change the steering shaft in 1992. I kept taking different parts from the wheel to see if it would line up right. But of coarse it didn't. I was looking at part 6053595 or 3595 installation kit. soooooo, I finally said F*ck it and bought it and took it to my house to try it out. This was done at the 4th time I went there. I put it on and duhh it doesn't have the piece that has the 5 holes for the wheel. So I go back to the parts place, get that piece and go back home to figure it out. Well I putt the center piece on but it doesn't slide down all the way, then I put on the piece with the 5 holes and that doesn't match up perfect with the steering wheel, so I so f*ck it again and dremol the steering wheel just a bit on each hole so they would fit. now, my question is and then when I go to bol the center black hub cover to the installation piece that is on the column shaft, the five bolts that they use to put the adapter part on the hub, are to big the, heads of the bolt stick out , So I attach it but I'm scared that the screws with either brake or wont hold and strip out.

1. is that center piece suppose to go all the way down, and
2. am I triping about the screws, or is that how they fit on a EG Civic.

any one ever used a grant wheel on their EG Civic, and have you encounter these same problems, Oh yeah stupid grant doesn't say what part goes with what year, man I am freakin frustrated.

 

Please follow my 4 steps.

1) Do not ghetto rig a steering wheel.

2) Do not buy grant products.

3) You do not have to dremel anything when it comes to a steering wheel.

4) When you purchase a aftermarket steering wheel, you have to purcahse the correct HUB. You know, the thingamabober with nuts and bolts.

It don't fit 'cuz that hub is for a car that don't have a air bag unless u have a delso witch u dont

I have a simalar situation. I have a 94 coupe and was given a grant steering wheel and was looking for a installation kit for it but can't find one. Im figuring that it is bc it has a airbag but was wondering if anyone has still put one on and how.I'm not stupid enough to do something like that and was looking for some input. I have seen an eg with one before but never thought of asking how bc I didn't have one at the time. Thanks in advance t
