Y8 MINI ME IS COMPLETE!!!

picked up my car today, cost me 300$ for labor for the whole swap.
We ran into a few problems here and there but heres the setup
1988 CRX DX
89 Si transmission (stock presure plate, ACT stage 2 disc, si flywheel)
Y7 block, Y8 head, Y8 intake manifold
Header, Dynomax turbo muffler/glasspack/2.25 piping, B18A1 throttle body, jdm integra intake with cone filter.
MSD RPM Switch 4200 rpms, pg7, OBDO bitches
this is one of the nicest sounding hondas ive been in or heard up close. NO RASP, just a clean motor sound, with a hint of intake, if any of u guys remember me, im teh guy who posted the crx video with my brother, i hope to have up soon pics of the engine bay, and or video of my car, and a soundbyte of this single cam
i pulled a 15.3 with the stock dx motor in it, this setup DEF pulls harder, i can feel the torque difference with the 1.6l, and on my tach my rev limit is 8k, but i know its off by around 200 so id say 7700-7800rpms with a pg7 ecu, hoping to break 14s this week
one thing on my way home from work just now, i pulled a code 20, im pretty sure it was 20 because it blinked 20 fast times, even though i thought 10 was one long blink, but it was a steady 20 blinks, and im reading its the electronic load something, on the ECU plate under the hood. i read its either a bad ground which we had a problem with, or u need to change the whole ecu unit. regardless, car pulls nice, and im watching my tach go to 8k and im excited.
heres how the performance feels
with azenis in decent shape on 14" si rims with 35 psi, my tires are trying to churp into 3rd but are gripping up like they should, im wheel hopping into 2nd, and i cant even get on full throttle in 1st gear cause theres wheel hop. i think i hear a set of beater pepboy specials calling my name begging to be spinning down the road

yea thats what i figured, i recently relocated the battery to the trunk, so it could be that one, and theres a new one going from teh tranny to the car, and the one thats on my valve cover is so old its sad.
lucky you, my y8 is sounding like a lawnmower right now(huge half inch exhaust leak near headers) , running on 3 cylinders, running rich(streams of white smoke).

yes yes, although i was considering running a pr4 for more fuel, my bro just got one for his zc, and his rev limits at 7000. i might try it for shorter shifts, but i dont run out to 7800 all the time anyway
when it comes to the track, i personally believe i dont need to rev out so high due to my times but my bro was like, "hey if u can go that far, then u might as well" and i beat on my dx motor all the time with that theory., i really need to hit the dyno.
and about the cam, im saving now for either the zex cam, or gonna find a spare cam to send to exospeed.
im still not sure the plans for this motor though, its either all motor gradually, or turbo kit in the spring.

on the y8 swap. where did you get the work done?? it seems like a good deal on labor and might wanna take it where you did if its nearby..as for the check engine light...check the valve cover ground...did the guys at the shop put the ground cable back on?
and as for wheel hop...might be a good time to get mount inserts..

im here in south jersey, the guy who did the work is a certified mechanic, hes a Grand National man, and he was one of the first guys around here to have a turbo d-series. right now hes got a a6 block, y8 head, z6 intake manifold, si tranny turbo standalone, and he hit 12 flat, and has hit a 11.5 with a previous turbo hf.
yea i gotta do something about that wheel hop, it pisses me off

good luck with it and yea i dont reccomend revving to 7800....it may live a couple times, ive been lucky a couple times too, but is the pg7 chipped cause i thought rev limit on those were 7400???...good luck on getting to the 14's.
