That is lowering springs for you Don't worry, not a problem at all.

it's not because they are lowering springs. It's because the springs he choose are progressive. Progressive springs have coils that are closer with less spring rate to give a smoother and more stock feel to them while daily driving. I had Pro-Kit springs on my 95 EX and they did the same, except I would only say 4 of the progressive coils touched each other.

actually, if im not mistaken, those are linear springs...progressive are the ones that arent spaced out even when there not compressed (basically opposite of what touring said)...hence the name progressive...but i might have it backwords...

thats the way there supposed to be...sportlines are like that in the rear, about 1/2 the springs touch, but when you ger under the car, inside the wheel, you can see its not sagging, just designed that way

eibach's have linear spring rates, like fw190bvi said. the reason some of the coils compress is partly so that there is always pressure on the upper mount (so even with the car raised the springs don't become unseated). many companies find it easier/more efficient to do it this way and still keep the spring rates and suspension travel that they want.

Sportlines are linear but Pro-Kits are progressive. Progressive springs have coils that go from close together to further apart in the same spring. Linear springs are springs that have coils that are spaced equally throughout the length of the spring.

after doing some more research (eibach's website), i found out that both the pro-kit and sportlines have progressive spring rates.

:scratches head:

strange... a ground control rep told me that all eibach springs had linear rates, including the pro-kit and sportlines. guess he didn't know his shiet.

hmm...I thought the sportlines were linear. I knew the Pro-Kits were progressive since I had them on my 95 EX but I was only going off what I've heard for the sportlines. Oh well, learn something new everyday.
