So I go to check my oil level today to see how it is, and i notice my front strut bar isnt there anymore!! HOW THE HELL COULD THIS OF HAPPENED?????? How could someone get under my hood and steal the bar? The only way to get to the hood would be thru the car. if someone was gonna go thru all the trouble to get in the car they would of taken more than just the strut bar. It looks like it was taken off cleanly, there arent any scratches or any marks of forced entry. My alarm automatically engages when all doors are closed, and there is no way someone can get in the car without the alarm going off, and me knowing about (i have a pager alarm, compustar and its worked fine b4).
Now with the stock bar missing, what brand should i get to replace it? Should i just get another oem one or should i get something else. all opinions are appreciated. thanks

im sure no one is playing a joke on me. No one i know has the knowledge to even know what a strut bar is let alone taking one off. and if someone is playing a game on me, my alarm would of gone off. besides the fact, I had another R which was stolen so i know none of my friends would play this kind of a game with me.
is it possible, you got some work done maybe at the acura dealer that involved taking it off, and possibly forgetting to reinstall it? or maybe somewhere else you may of have something done to it. i.e alarm install?

Ya i did get some work done at a Acura dealer recently and i have already gone down there, and they said they would investigate. I had them change my synchros on my tranny, and that shouldnt have anything to do with taking it off. Im pretty sure that the workers there have something to do with it, but how do i prove it?

I just went and checked, and the wheel well is still there with no signs of anyone taking it off. Unless some sat there opened up all the screws opened the hood taken the bar off, and screwed the wheel well back on, all at the scene of the crime, and only for a strut bar is highly doubtful. but thanks i would of never figured to check the wheel well .
Must have been a Strut Bar Fairy!
I think I'm getting Tanabe front and rear strut bars for Christmas... only $105 each!!!
Driver side wheel well. Rip open the fender lining. See your hood release cable? In less than 10 seconds someone could gain access to your engine bay.

Mr. Tomakit and 98itR, please delete those posts about the wheel well, now that it has been discussed there is no need to share that sensitive info with thieves who mayy be browsing the board. Many of us are lowered, so it cannot be easily done but please delete it anyway.

MUGEN 26mm...while you're at it go ahead and get the rear one too, couldn't hurt anybody
If your synchros were replaced, they pulled off your strut bar. When ever i pull a trans, i pull off the strut bar for more room to work with. Its easier getting the bolts on the trans with the strut bar out. It was probably the dealer that did it accidently. Or one of the workers wanted a strut bar, and thought you wouldnt notice.

You can also pop the hood by reaching under the front bumper (put your hand in the grill) and pull on the cable and pop the hood. It's 10x easier then going through the fender well. That is why on my old gsr I blocked the cable with an aluminum plate. I still have to do it on the R, but I don't leave the R anywhere outside. Also the hood does not have an alarm switch on it from the factory, you have to add one. Found out the hard way on my GSR when they first went through the fender well. Then when I fixed that, they went through the grill... fix that too... I'm probably going to make another plate for my R this weekend, I'll take some pics and post them up.
I have to agree with Brinks on this one. We don't need this information to be readily available to would-be theives. There is a fine line between sharing knowledge with eachother to try and prevent theft, and providing the thieves with the knowledge they need to carry out the crime.

I bet 90% of the theives that steal integras already know this. But I understand, its just how do you share the info with the good people so they can protect there car with out telling the bad people? Which would you rather have? Not knowing how your car was stolen or doing something about it?

the ghost of past christmas...
