How to remove paint cleanly (touch up paint)???
I have a scratch on my door jam, it went right to the metal, about 1inch x 1/32 inch. I was PISSED when it happend.
This happend about a week after I got my brand new 04 civic coupe and so i did not want it to rust so i applied honda NBP touch-up paint right away (in like 20mins after scratch happend)
but now im reading in some places that anti-rust primer is to be used on bare metal, is this true in all occasions, or only when there is rust already??
im starting to think i should somehow strip the two coats of touch-up paint i applied and re-do it, primer, paint and then clear coat.
I dont want to make it look worse than it already does, i was thinking either use a dremel or thinner to remove the paint, masking it off before i do anything since the area is quite small.
Its inside the door jam, at this point im worried about rust not asthetics.
Should I just leave it as is and not worry about the primer or strip it and re-do it???
thanks!
