fresh oil...really dark?
Okay i changed my oil about 1200 miles ago. It seems like its really dark already. Is this normal or do i have a problem somewheres. I havent really been driving hard at all either. I just wanted to see if anyone else seems to have this happen.

Was it really dark right after you changed it and started the engine atleast once? If you then I'd ask you if you had gone past 3,000 on the last oil change, or if you had done so previously or habitually.
My oil does get somewhat dark rather soon, but thats casue I drive my lude like its a ferrari
.
If I were you next oil change i'd do a mechanical engine flush, or atleast a cheap oil cleaner and see if that helps. I'd say this becasue I'm assuming that the old oil is not all comming out at the oil changes/sludge and residual oil is built up when you put the new oil in.
Next time you change the oild use the cleaner first, then drain out the old stuff and let it dip until its all out. Then try blowing some air trough the engine to get the rest of it out, it worked for me.

It seemed to be dark after about 800-1,000 miles. I didnt go over 3000 miles on my last change by very much. I just wasnt sure if i should be concerned at all. I dont think its anything but wanted to be sure.
