Default Japan Honda vs. USA Honda???

I just recently did some research on VIN #'s and is it true that the Hondas made in Japan are better as far as reliability goes as compared to the ones made in the United States??? If so then I am gonna trade mine in.

Don't know about that.

Has 90 Prelude worked like a charm till 310000 KM was built in Japan

Current Car is a 00 Civic SiR built in Ohio I belive. Car is 4 years old and has 80000 KM on it. So far no issues.

Hondas in general are built well. Better then some other cars but if you take care of them and do all the proper maintenance you shouldn't have any problems unless you get a Outright lemon and there are laws for that in most places now.

Okay. Look. Hondas are built in factories. Some may be in Canada for cheaper production/assembly. Some are built in Japan cause they dont sell enough for it to be reasonable to be made here in the U.S. Ohio Produces like Civics and Accords, my Civic came from Ontario, my dad's RL and sister-in-law's Prelude came from Japan. Note the RL and NSX are Japanese made cause they sell so few, while the civic and accord will sell millions, it saves cost in shipping to the US. My mom's green 04 CRV was built in the UK, but its a US model nonetheless. There is no big thing like one factory makes better cars than another. The FACTORIES are actually Honda's, unlike dealerships that are independant. So trust the quality of any Honda. The "JDM" ones are no different or better build quality, Honda is the best build quality, safest, and most reliable car name in the wolrd.

70% of "Made in Japan" is actually made in China now. I don't know anymore. All I know is I drive a Honda and it's pretty damn reliable.

Can we have some more information input from people, and less "your a retard" flaming cluttering up this entire forum? Really, its a waste of space.

Regardless of where Honda's parts are from, they are the same, and the same quality.

It's been shown in studies done that Hondas produced in the US and other countries are of equal build quality to their Japan factories and it's because of their company philosophy towards their employees and how they run their business as a whole. Domestic factories are just as capeable as those in Japan, but our domestic car manufactures (Ford, GM, Chrysler) don't run themselves efficiently and it shows all the way down to the production quality on the line.

Thats exactly correct, I would add the all the motors/trannies are assembled in japan though. So all the cars still have the same heart.

This is incorrect.

Honda has an engine plant in Anna, Ohio, another in Lincoln, Alabama, and a transmission plant in Russells Point, Ohio.

my dads accord has a ford guage cluster...
if you got a 00 accord take ur guage cluster out you will see a ford stamp on it. left bottom corner if i remember right.
ours took a **** fast.
srs light is on now dealer wants 600 to fix the air bag sensor for it.
my dad and uncle got the accord same time they got a good deal if they got 2.
both cars have same identical problems. both cars had one exhaust hanger not connected from factory left side on muffler.
our accord has this crazy bucking/crunching/ clicking sound when u back up on a roads that has a incline. started doing it less then a year after owning it.
the dealer said its the brake pads moving back and fourth but i never seen any car do it so violent that the car jerks and the wheel jerks too.
so far i think the accords is a lemon. my friend has a 01 accord too all 3 are v6 models all have tranny problems.

yo hayabusa, normally i dont yell at people for lying, but I need a picture of this to believe it. I never heard anything about Ford and Honda. I know three things for fact:

1. Honda's Passpore (In europe at least) used a GM diesel engine.
2. Honda and GE made a Jet engine.
3. The new Saturn VUE (SUV) has a Honda V6 engine in it.
