Default Bumper replacement after accident.

Hello, I am new to this forum. I had an accident in my s and need to replace the bumper. My question is, what is the best bumper I can get as far as ease of installation and are there any shops locally that will actually carry these bumpers in stock(I live in Dallas TX) I'm looking for authentic bumpers. I was looking at cwest, gp sports, and I really like the Amuse full R1 bumper but that thing is like a grand. Any help would be appreciated.

I would have to say the majority of custom front bumpers would be on special order only. Most shops do not stock these because they are expensive to carry and they are not in high demand for the S2000 as opposed to a Civic. This also drives up the cost of the actual bumpers, which is why you see it for $1K, and the Mugen at King for even much more. King might have one of their front bumpers in stock, but also keep in mind, prep work is where it is all at. If it isn't properlly prepped and then painted, it will look like crap.

Thanks for the reply. What exactly needs to be done to prep the bumper? Aren't the aftermarket authentic bumpers pretty much bolt on like the stock? Can you please explain the steps of prep work and the differences between prepping a fiberglass to a urethane.

authentics are typically worth the money, otherwise, you'll spend that saved money at a bodyshop. but you are already looking at authentics, so the proper supports, etc. are already there, instead of having to fit a bumper correctly, or building supports to do so. I've had to deal with this with a J's replica. quite a difficult fit. the prep-work is just at the body shop, prepping the piece for painting. a certain amount of flex additive will need to be added if eurathane, and fiberglass, not sure the prepping steps for it.
