Okay well i had an old thread on this if you wish to follow up the conclusion and posting of this topic:

I got all the work done nice and safely with battary and even taking the fuse's out for 5-10 seconds....So now after buying a new ECU becuase my last one was throwing all type of codes this one i buy from my friend for $80 bucks, i install it and let the car idle 15-25 mins so the new cpu can learn the car.....So the problem is what? The check engine light isn't on nomore but none of my interior dome/map lights work at all. Other then that the car is coo...and runs well for 169XXX miles on it....even thou i know a new timing would hit the car's g's spot. Hmm so whats wrong with my car???? I just have a nasty short somewhere in the electrical system and installing that new ecu was just a waste of time and money? Hope somebody can just help me.

Also one more question? When should i maintenance the car? I know i should do it so every often at the dealership....or is there some shops that do it as well? Whats the charge for it most of the time?

I love this car but i want it to treat me well which it is except the interior dome lights....and the check engine coming on whenever if ****** feels like it. I think im just going to have to get me a JDM 1.8 DOHC LS.....yes LS and just jackson supercharge it.......if thats where i want my reliability with power to get me places...

 

check the instrument light fuse under the dash, most likely the fuse blew
