Default Is this true or false?

If you take out the seats of the RSX your airbags don't work anymore?
Or is this true of every car... or did my friend just BS me.

Don't turn your car on with the seats disconnected, or the SRS light will come on. While the light is on, I think the system is disabled.

If you take your seats out the airbag light (SRS) will come on and stay on. If you replace the seats back, teh light will still be on (airbags wont work) and you'll need to go get it reset at a dealer or something like that.

front airbags will still work even if the seats are swapped out and the SRS light is on. this has been proven the hard way.

Yes that is what i heard...the front airbags will still work even if the SRS light is on. Another qeustion tho, y wouldnt the "side airbag off" light come on if the seats where removed? I was in the drive thru the other day and my "side airbag off" light came on while i was sittin in neutral, i thnk the E-brake was prolly on too, does NE1 know if that is supposed to happen, it seams right. OH yeah, when i put it back in gear and pulled up the light went off and hasnt been back on since. Has this happened to NE1??

the "side airbag off" light turns on when your passenger leans against the door. the car senses that something is blocking the side airbag deployment zone. if it deployed right then, yer arm would be in major pain

yeahi from clubrsx had a SRS light on when he totaled his car. front airbags still went off.

Where did you find this from?

If I recall right, there was some kind of problem with this....Honda made a mechanical bulletin to address this problem...Just forgot the site that posts them all....

its more like a "weight sensor" , which basically tells the SRS system if there is a small child in the front seat or anything light then the PS airbag will not deploy, just an easier way than having a manual on/off switch for the PS airbag like some GM's.

with the SRS light on the airbags will deploy, the ECU is just sensing something is missing from the circuit.
