Axle broke in 2nd Gear? Any help?
Hey guys I have searched this and found nothing, I am running a GSR Turbo first time with turbo running about 9psi. The car is spinning mickey thompsons 24.5x8x13s like they are street tires. I am running about 11psi in the slicks and first run tonite the car launched spinning(launch around 5500k) and when I hit second it broke the inner joint on the drivers side. Just wondering what advise some of you guys might have. Only been to the track one other time and the car would pull really hard to the right at launch. When it was to the track before it was pulling 1.70 60fts. But it was all over the place. I will post my setup as far as suspension goes and any advice would be great.
koni yellows w neuspeed drag launch springs. Car is a 89 CRX fully gutted with cage and a 95 gsr built starting out on 9psi.

Yeah they are oem.
Just thought of something as well, I just had some axles lying around and was wondering what is the difference betweet left and right. I know the look similar but maybe I put a pass. in the drivers side and it was too short?

Are you running any type of LSD? Also there is no way you can swap the driver and passenger axles: one has a male connection and the other has a femal connection.

Yes I am running a full spool. Solid diff. I am running 91 integra drive train and they both have male ends on them. The femal ends didnt come till 94. I was just wondering about the lengths in them. Thanks
Yes I did have fun with an axle at the track last night, but we will save that for another day...
Thats an interesting point you have about the axles, but i still dont know if that is possible... How did the axle break??? What part of the axle actually gave out???

Also, you broke because you dead hooked. Blame it on the track for prepping the track
BoostedCivicSedan launched at 5700RPM (correct?) and as soon as he came off the two step he was done.

it broke the inner joint on the driver side that hooks in to the half shaft. I was just curios because it did nothing in first and popped in 2nd.
need to lessen the air pressure....8-9psi.. 9-10psi boost shouldn't spin this size slicks.. shot everyone has run 10sec with these with 1.5-1.6 60ft

5200 rpm, building 3-4 psi of boost on the 2 step, 12 psi of air in the tires, the track prep was so good I just dead hooked and POW!!!!!! Maybe if I wouldve launched closer to 6 my luck wouldve been better... Couldve possibly gotten that ellusive 11 sec. pass as well....
By the way, You probably severely weakend it on the launch, and probably damn near broke it then, but it held by a thread, just enough to where the strain of the tires hooking in second finished it off.... Ive done that too
