Default Is it possible to buy mounts for automatic civic to make it automatic to manual?

Hey guys, need ur help on this one. I got a 1994 honda civic ex, its automatic, but in immacculate condition at 94k. What i wanted to do originally is put an ls motor with a gsr head, and make it manual. But the tranny that goes ''with'' i think gsr tranny Y 80 doesnt fit the tranny mounts on my car. So i cant do this project. So now i just want to convert my civic from automatic to manual but i cant find the tranmission mounts. So is this possible to do with my civic or what?

1. wrong forum.

2. your civic has a d series engine. the ls is a b series engine. you need a mount kit to swap in the different engine type. try the hybrid forum for more help.

1: correct

2: INCORRECT. To put an OBD1 b series motor in a 92-95 civic engine bay, all you need are the stock b series motor mounts that were on the motor you're swapping in. You do not need a mount kit like you do with the older 88-91 civic/crx stuff. But if you're trying to put an OBD0 LS motor in your OBD1 car(which wouldn't make sense with a GSR head, btw), then I'm not sure.

Also, doing a automatic to manual swap is more complicated than just the mount. You have to install a clutch pedal, shift linkage, shifter, and you have to rewire some pins I believe. Not a good idea for a first project.

good luck, and if you want a fast car that is still automatic, buy an H22 from me.

And since this is a newer car he would have to deal with the addition of Hydraulic clutch lines.

really? that's cool!

but why do they make mount kits for those cars if you don't need them? is it just a performance thing?

Yup, just a performance thing, that way the mounts you put in are stiffer

I've always wondered about this.

Nothing works except welding?

what is necessary when changing over to manual from auto if you're putting in an h series? ( as far as mounts, i know the other stuff)

btw, thanks for the good Info!
