well i have a quick question. me and my frinds were posted at the local jack in a box. when we see a slammed 94 and up teg come buy and out of no where his exhaust makes this huge gunshot noise out of no where. almost as if it was meant to do that. my question is, is how do u make or put your car like that and why do people do it. and no there were no flames coming out

Lack of backpressure, too much camshaft overlap and too much fuel is what makes it happen on most vehicles.

stop giving nissan owners a bad name you moron.

SOrry Hondas arent as shitty as Nissans. I guess nissans CAN backfire, but i wouldnt be proud of it
Backfiring, btw, is when like you have detonation comin out the chamber. Sometimes you can like, have flames comin out the intake or exhaust, and this is a REAL bad thing. Hondas dont do that. If they do, you have serious engine problems, and somethin is broken.

that would cause a flame but not a loud gunshot noise..
you cant really make the car backfire unless you just beat the **** out of it and make it run like **** on purpose..

Yea, your talkin about the old muscle cars that spit flames out the tailpipe. Thats a kit where i think actually some of them either make the car run rich, or actually will spit fuel into the tailpipe and some do use a sparker, but not really a spark plug, although you could.

Not true at all. I shoot flames all the time. the motor is strong as can be has made over 60 passes this year at 13.60's. Its called running extremely rich (coutesy of Mugen P28) running rich and you have a lil extra fuel and it ignites with the gas fumes in your exhaust and you got ur self a flame. Im running the AN-R compact header with a merge collector mated with a RSR GTII exhaust. No resonators or cats.

it's called being stupid. backfiring can destroy an engine very quickly
For the poster if you stick a hand grenade in your exhaust it will make the loudest noise you've ever heard right before the police arrive to find your remains a block away

My car shoots a flame, not to proud of it because sooner or later it will melt my bumper and backfiring is so annoying.
Damn i need 3 inch pipping
