boost has no relation to power, you should rephrase your question

or should it be "how much ABUSE can a 01 s2k tranny handle?"

strain on one's car is definitely relative....

you can have an 01 with 100,000 with 9lbs of boost being driven GRANNY style

or you can have a bone stock 04 on slicks being driven by Johnny LEADFOOT.

so that is a hard question to answer....

the syncros will be the first to go in most cases. I damaged the syncros for third gear. I was driving it hard and the car was at 385rwhp with the boost setup. 04 transmissions come with carbon syncros which will help, but as many have indicated it is relative to your driving, shifting, clutch setup, etc.

just upgrade the clutch when you go FI.... and while you're at it you might as well get a lightened flywheel.....

S2k trannies can hold up to 400 hp after that you mite start having problem but like it was mentioned before it all depends how you drive the car .

I think the more relevant issue here is torque, not hp. Those that are high power cars, what's the torque output around 6-7k rpm since that would be where most power shifts would fall into.

vapor is absolutely correct, around 278tq at the wheels...also I was shifting rather agressively which attributed to the damage too
