Toda Pistons ( or any other forged piston) and FRM cylinder walls
Sup guys, i know the s2000 has the Frm coated Cylinder walls. Ive seen a few threads on h-t where the prelude motors with frm switching over to forged pistons get torn apart pretty bad.
but doesnt the s2k come with forged pistons already?
I also e-mailed the toda distributor here they said it would be okay, no sleeving, boring or honing needed.
If someone has switched over to forged either for FI or n/a apps thier input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If they're saying its ok than the pistons are probably cast. And also you should ALWAYS get your motor at least honed when installing new pistons, so he's probably blowing smoke up your ***. There's no way around it, if you want to run aluminum pistons than you need to get the motor resleeved.
And the stock pistons are just shitty cast pistons, they're not forged from factory

From what i remember, its something that honda pioneer more than a decade ago, and first used on the c30 (nsx motor) and used it later w/ the b16, b18c, k20 and pretty much all the high revving, high output motors. As he said earlier, a hone job should always be done when putting in new pistons.

wasnt the prelude the test mule for the frm? then it was used on the nsx so they could bump it up to a 3.2 liter (c32)

Sorta agree with this, it may be good if the motor is staying stock, but for us its just another obsticle
