tinting soft top plastic?
I work at a tint shop during the summer and no you cannot do it. If you buy that cheesey stick-on plastic stuff it may work but real tint will not.

Window tint is not formulated to stick to plastic.
However, you are not out of options. These are the ones I know of.
Option 1. They make a spray on tint for this
purpose. It is a transparent paint comes in different
colors red blue black yellow and green are the ones I've
seen. It bonds with the plastic chemically or something.
The stuff will not come off once applied so make sure
you want to do it before spraying.

Option 2. Get a conv't top shop to sew in a new peice made from pre-tinted plastic. My jeep had this in the rear windows.... nice feature
goodluck

there is a thread on s2ki.com about tinting the rear plastic window. you have to use cling tint ot something of that nature. Just go to the website and type in "tint plastic window".
You can use that stuff but in all honesty, it looks like crap. You can't achieve a clean looking tint job without having a glass window. Since the plastic folds when u put the top down you will always have wear on whatever type of tint you attempt to use, whether it be cling-on or spray.
