Default APEXI Help

So here we are trying to instal my new ws exhaust. Not that hard- right.. everythning was going great getting the old exhaust off but now the new one is not welded correctly.. The new exhaust cat flange is welded on 45 dergees from where it should be.. So nothing lines up. here some picts
http://www.imagestation.com/al...ge=Y

What should I do. I have an hour long commute to work and there is no way the old one can go back on.. Should I just take it to a shop and have them align the flange correctly, send it back and wait another 10 days.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

um.....judging from the hanger, you got the exhaust 120degress off....being the the cat flange is 3 bolts, and you are one bolt off....hope that helps

Mine came perfect. I'd check your alignment again. I think quality control would have caught something like that...

I hear what you are saying.. But I have tried every way possile and the back flange is off just as much for the pipe. we are dealing with bolt and play system here- Not rocket science . But I undertand what you are saying.. I am working with a local dealer that may have one in stock and we can work out a deal where I buy a new one at the same price and then the other company will refund the money.. Not the way I want to do it but I can't drive the car the way it is.. As far as quality control. It didn;t come with all the bolts either.. It must have been made friday at 4:59..

I will not hold a grudge untill nothing works..

Sorry your Apex'i experience was bad, I love Apex'i and I stand by them.

Anyone want an Apexi intercooler?

My cat flange was pointing triangle up. Hope that helps. Also, once you take the old exhaust off, the header may've twisted your cat somewhat. So you might want to consider that too.

By the way, can you post some pics on the rest of the exhaust like the rear end shot, canister, and tip? I'm debating between Apex'I WS and WS II exhausts right now. Thanks a bunch.

i believe the only difference between the WS and the WSII is that the WSII is completely stainless

Great thanks,, That does help.. Mine also points up there for the last system was bad..

I had to drive the car for about 10 min today with only a cat. Heat shield is still iin place.. Could I have damaged anyting?

Picts will come once it is installed.. I was working with a guy and he said that only differnce between the wsI and the WS II us that the II is the newer model. It may have a larger tip. Not sure.. But for the complete system for 423. shipped I could not pass it up.. But I need one that works..

Thank you to everyone that has help with this situation.. I just got the second system in and just put it on.. Less than two hours in the dark ( just a spot light) Not hard at all when everything is aligned correctly.. Just as we though the other one was just slightly off.. about 20 degrees or less.. - either way it looks pretty good.. Tip bigger than I thought ( 4") but It is not too large.. same size as a TRD for my wifes celi.. Over all I really like it so far. As far as noise.. ( what noise? very quiet- has a little rumble under throttle but you can still hear the intake and the radio.. Will never get pulled over for it.. It sounds like a stock just when it gets a very small hole in it.. Very nice.,. WE will post pictures later when it is light out.. Thank again to everyone

Youre welcome and I hope you enjoy it for years to come- Apex'i is a quality name and you'll see that it lasts. If you really want you could probably get a different tip welded on if it still looks too big. Good luck!

Is that the WS I or WS II? And is that the normal hanging position or raised? Thanks.

That sucks that you had that problem. APEXi is usually excellent quality. Atleast it's all worked out.

The picture above looks like it's a WS1. Correct me if I'm wrong but aside from the WS2 being all stainless weren't the tips redesigned slightly and the tip edge rolled? I'm not really sure if the WS mufflers look the same for Accords, Civics, Integras, etc. but heres a picture of a WS2 on a Civic.

I really like my new apexi.. Car runs much better with it.. Not sure on power gain if any- but the car runs smoother... Anyway for those that have a ws- I have noticed that even today my car had developed a nice ( low rumble) not loud but a nice sound.. Will this get louder? I have 100 miles on the new system.. If it gets louder that is fine because it is a nice sound.. For those that are questioning one.. They are nice. and really easy to install. Bolt and play... (The BAD smell will go away)

You're right, it is a WS1. I painted my pipes with a high temp rustoleum silver to keep them from going to hell. The tip is the noticeable difference. I believe that it is raised up to the stock height.

apex'i exhaust sound great.

I ran their catback for the longest time on my prelude and now on my accord... I currently have it modified to bolt up to the 3" dp, and yeah it is like oe nothingness sound till I come into boost. so very stealthy, people have no clue until they hear the turbo spool.

apex'i dunk 115 series (smaller cannon, not the monster folgers series like the universal).
