Not to mention that he is a damn nice guy. He was up to his neck working on his car last weekend and still took the time to sign an autograph for my kids. I mean when he seen them standing there he got up and walked over to sign it.

 

Us honda guys are gonna need a new savior now. As our best are jumping the fence.

 

i second that choice, we met chuck at the begining of the year thru tony1 and he has been a freind to me like i knew him for years. great person and family also, plus his awesome team randy and chad. we are going to SEMA with chuck and chad see you all there.

Congrats to Chuck and team on the championship. Definatly shows that consistency wins championships. Oh and definately rookie of the year, can't wait for '05.

Chuck is definitly "The Rookie Of The Year" not to mention one hell of a nice guy. Just met him at the NOPI race and made me feel right at home as if I were one of the crew.

how about otis evans?.....doing a real good job over on the PRO STOCK side.

 

definately a huge to chuck and crew. they came out strong this year! we pitted next to them at the atco nopi race. i think they blew a motor the first qualifier then spent the rest of the day (and a good deal of the night) building a new one. then went on to win the race! amazing dedication and teamwork. this is a crew for smaller teams to look up to. good luck to you guys in 05.

the only other person i would consider as a rookie of the year besides chuck would be brad personnet.

Otis is my man and all, and he outdrove alot of people in the class and won alot of races on the tree,but Chuck did pull through when he needed too. I dont really know Chuck, but if he did not oil down the track when he should let off some times, I would be a raving fan I think. There were too many times this year we had to wait because he kept into it after blowing at the line or 1000ft mark. I know the control arm debacle was likely out of his control and there was one other time from the 1000 that I cant say I blame him too much. If the NDRA enforced the rules about oildowns that are in the book, we would very likely have a different champion. Being a pro is more than having the fastest or most consistent car, its about professionalism and respect for the competitors of all classes as well.

I think it kinda sounds like im bashing Chuck, but thats not the intention of this post, just a statement of facts. He just worked with what he had, and certainly no one can ever take away the show that he put on during the last race! That was definitely a champions performance!

They are supposed to dock 25 points for oildowns, but I have not talked to anyone at NOPI about that that knew that even existed in the rulebook. I just think rules should be enforced if they are there; if you dont enforce or intend to enforce any rule, I think they should be removed.

He grew up alot this year too; I think he will be a name to watch in the next year or two, but dont expect him to be in a street car again unless it becomes possible to break a nine.

 

Two thumbs up to Chuck. He's a great competitor and a very nice person.

Wow this is a tough one. I think Chuck did a great jopb and definately deserves credit. But there are alot of other new faces on the scene that are gonna make there mark and continue to do very well.

I definately need to give it up for three of my fellow competitors who seemingly came out of nowhere. (Doesnt this always happen ??)

Saul Salceda.....10s in a street car & Hopped in Norris' Integra without missing a beat...

Otis Evans....great guy, great driver, 2nd in NDRA the first year racing a full season.

Clay Sloan....Quick car .... & a Wally in his first season...
