i was wondering if its ok for the compressor if i run the car with no belt for the ac compressor for the whole winter. will the ac still work next summer and spin freely?

 

you should be fine. you might have to recharge. dont know for sure though.

theres no point.. the AC compressor is not robbing any power if its not on..

 

You should still run your AC in the winter a few times, thats why he is asking.

I ran with my belt off for a while...over a year. Then popped it back on and the AC wasn't cold at all, Im sure it needed a recharge. Just a heads up.

 

I use my A/C all the time in the winter, BIG help in keeping the windshield clear (temp slider on hot + A/C compressor)

 

I had my AC belt off for about 2 1/2 years. Then one day I decided to put it back on. Worked fine. It is in need of a recharge but actually the air coming out is still pretty cold.
