Today I picked up a D16Z6 block and head, pretty good condition too, I want to tear it all down and I want to clean all the grime and crap off the block what cleaners should I use and how would I clean it? I need this thing spotless for my future buildup.

 

engine degreaser and a Q-Tip (substitute q-tip as needed)

 

I was thinking more along the lines of a bug tub, a scrubber and hot water with certain detergents, as long as its indoors and the water is dried off the sleeves wont rust

 

Outside or inside? If you're gonna clean the outside of the motor, I would just use simple green and scrub. You make also be able to use brake cleaner to degrease some things.
