Don't do this...
I replaced my friends radiator last night (96 Prelude Si Auto) Well he decided to go cheap when his radiator cracked (around the cap like all honda radiators it seems, the same happened to my Legend) He bought some off brand instead of Denso and it was a biotch to put in. Nothing lined up right and the fins were very brittle. If you replace your radiator, spend the bucks and get a Denso!!!
Kinda OT, but...
5speedv6: what have you done to your Camry to hit 14.7s? Do you have the 4 door or the 2 door Solara coupe? I didn't think you could get the V6 sedan with a 5spd...
My dad has a 99 Solara coupe 5spd, and that thing is pretty quick. Very nice car for the money. Too much torque steer IMO, though... But man that thing can move!

You do get what you pay for. He's been running since i did it and no problems. He says the car runs cooler but IMO its in his head
we used redline water wetter this time but i know for a fact your not gonna see a difference on the stock temp gauge.
I got one of the rare 5 speed v6 camrys, bought 4,000 of them made from 97-01. Mines an LE model. So far its got a custom intake, carbon fiber hood, tokico blues, ground control springs, TRD short shifter, TRD upper strut bar for the Solara and a few little custom mods i did myself but nothing really on the engine. My car has been weighed at 3,010 lbs in street trim/full interior which is why i can get the times i do. Solaras are slightly heavier and have slightly more hp due to a different fuel system and exhaust (6 more hp).
Your dads got a 5 spd v6 Solara? cool.
These cars feel pretty good with the 5 spd tranny, it really makes you feel the engine how it should be.

Wow! 14.7 with just an intake? Amazing!
I did not know the 4 door was available with the 5spd... That's some sleeper-mobile you've got there...
Looking at my dad's car, I have to think that substantial power gains could be had with some headers on that motor. The stock cast iron exhust manifold is puny... I would not be surpried to see 10-15hp or more from some half decent tubular headers. Does anyone make headers for that motor?
I can see why the short shifter would be good in the Camry. The shifter in the Solara is so long and rubbery... I bet the shifter would feel 10x better with a short shift in there... And I think I would love the Solara if it had your suspension setup... That cushy, leany stock suspension has got to go.
