If all u want is a deeper sound than get a 18"-22"resonator added to the piping..

i'm running 2.5 on my A6.... its not going to get deeper its just going to get hellishly loud. EVERYONE knows where i am and where i'm going. my roomates say they can hear me getting off the highway... and i have a straight through with no resinator. it did help with power mind you but the only person tolerates the car is me!

IMO, you don't need 2.5" on a stock-mild SOHC.

When I did away with my fartcan, I went with a 18" resonator, and a Dynomax Super Turbo domestic style muffer... It sounds nice and deep, not raspy.

well for one i dont have a stock mild SOHC, so a resonator and the turbo style domestic give me decent power and nice sound?

Dynomax Ultraflow + 28" resonator for me, should sound like stock.

i'm running 2½ inch magnaflow catback. powerwise it pulled a littleharder up top. noisewise. it hardly ever sounds raspy inside. only when you're approaching 5500 rpm and up. in which you're probably getting on it and arent paying attention to the sound. most of the time though it sounds really nice and deep and non-bumblebee.
