H22a?
How does an JDM H22a compare to a B18C5 in Del Sol compatability and performance? I noticed the H only had 10 less horses, but almost 20 more tq, which is better, is the H a much harder swap on a sol, hit me up with info.
Thx

if im correct the h22 has more hp and tq but it is a little heavier than the b18c5. i think for a del sol the b series is much easier to drop in than a prelude engine.

Stock for stock H22 will take a B18c(5) off the line, no doubt.
Now for top end and to finish the 1/4 mile the B18c(5) has the H22 beat.
Search theres plenty of H22 vs B18c(5) out there.

JDM B18 Type R has 210hp cause they run it at a higher compression ratio, USDM has 195, but I'm talkin strictly jdm on both ends, so comparison is 210hp/138tq for B18C5 versus 200hp/158tq for H22, but if the H requires chassis work and a whole disastrous ordeal such as that, forget it, I'll go type r any day.

type-r would be your best bet, easier, much less of a headache, easy wiring easy mounts. H22 isnt THAT hard but alot more involving........as far as 1/4 mile performance, stock for stock and same chassis/ set-up, flip a coin. I autox my h22 hatch, handles GREAT btw!!!! I was only 1.6 seconds off a slicked z06 with a very good driver(alot better than me anyway)! Anyway IMO there are no cons with either setup. You'll be thouroughly satisfied with either. Have fun and good motoring to you

h22 swap is gonna be cheaper than the type r swap from MOST performance shops. That is what i based my h22 purchase on. Peformance wise your getting more torque with the h22. The type r engine has a higher redline if your looking for something you can rev up past 7200 rpm(stock h22 redline). All in all its up to you and your wallet
