Wondering if mugen make s a lip for the CRX or something other then WW and Tsunami...

 

the only lip i know or for the EDM front end is the factory Si one. but if you have the JDM front end i think there are a couple aftermarket ones. like from J's racing and other JDM comapnies like that.

 

i believe the blue one is the Mugen kit. as most of the old JDM mugen kits came with the cuto outs for the wrap around corners. but then again i seen a few with regular bumper light as well. so they both may be mugen. but my vote goeds to the blue one...

you guys really need to quit egging this guy on, it's bad enough any topic that even brings up the term JDM his picture is automaticaly posted.

 

I like that "Purple speed lip". I also like the Mugen...but it seems like the mugen is the whole front bumper...am I mistaken? I need something that attaches to the bottom of my stock bumper..

 

I personally would like one like this for the USDM front end of my hatch... reminds me of a Trust EG lip...

Does anyone know if I can get the actual Mugen kit, or do they even make the kit anymore. If you know where I can still get it put up their website or phone#. Not looking for the WWkit.

 

from what i've heard the Mugen kits have been discontinued (king motorsports). and have been for a few years. your best bet will be ebay or gettign in contact with someone overseas and seeing if by any snowballs chance in hell they have one on there shelf taking up space. ha maybe a shop here in the U.S. forgot they had one and is sitting somewhere, but you will need alot of luck finding the real deal mugen kit. and be careful with the copies. i seen a guy buy one here he thought was real deal and it turned out to be a WW kit with mugen bades on it...

both the red and the blue crx's sport genuine mugen body kits.
the blue one sports an EF8/SiR Mugen kit.
the red one sports an EF6/EF7 Mugen kit.

 

its been discontinued since 93.
but theres about 5 crx's in the states including mine sporting the real deal kit.
one of them was in super street in april of 2001 i think and crxforum has it as his avatar.
to distinguish a real mugen kit from a fake one,

a) a real mugen kit unpainted is a whitish fiberglass in color.
b) on the inside of the bumper where the grill would be, mugen is glassed into the actual kit.
c) visually a real mugen body kit fits 100% perfect without any mods and comes with pre opened holes to use with your stock body lines. ( opened holes for your bumper lenses, holes for the bolts in the bumper, etc. )
d) you wont need to cut to fit the kit!!!
e) theres slots for the emblems on the side skirts
f) if you look at the kit in the front, all the other companies sport the wide lower vent like the sir. if your buying one to fit a usdm crx, it will be a smaller opening like the ef6/ef7
g) look at the bodykit from the side angle. the kit where the door caps are is almost a boxy edge and is not round edged like the ww. plus it doesnt buldge out almost a whole 1.5 inches like the ww. kit
h) a real mugen kit doesnt flare out as much in the front bumper and side skirts and rear. a real mugen kit follows close to the body line of the car and is almost flush to the car unlike ww that adds inches to your car like 10lbs of roast beef on a fat woman.
i) a real mugen kit front bumper is the same height as the stock crx bumper with an si lip, unlike ww.
j) ill just stfu now.

Well, there is nothing fancy about this one, but it is the one I want to get.

 

I believe that's Tom Fowlers #60 CRX that won the Improved Touring A national championship at Road Atlanta this November. Car will turn 1:44's at RA which is DAMN fast, although Tom is a great driver. I heard he sold the car for $14,000 after that race weekend. Tom owns OPM Motorsports http://www.opmmotorsports.com. They are doing work on our IT car for the 2002 season.

looks like it might be a center cap to cover the lugs....

 

nope, they aren't. those, on the CF-48's are brake-cooling discs. they actually suck air in and cool off the brakes by using the fins on the wheels. you could buy them with/without the rims. the rims are cool, because they are designed like a heat-sink to remove as much heat as possible from the brakes. btw, check out my avitar to the left, yes i do have a set of them for my CRX.. only paid $400 for 'em. they are 14x6's and look really, really nice....

 

never said i was right, like i said just a guess. it's hard to even phathom what those lil mugen elves think up. but i never thought of that. sounds sweet and very effective

 

removable brake cooling covers for the rims.

i have a set also for circuit so i dont get bumped up a class for 15" rims.

i paid 375 in black
