Why does everybody rag on kawasaki??
hey guys, im just curious why everyone rags on kawasaki, i know they make a few bikes lower in value, but even at the upper level are they such terrible bikes, or is just everyone caught up on the other three main jap bikes? Lookin into the future and just starting to do my research for my next bike. Thanks for your opinions.
btw: i have a kaw, love it, could be a little more aggressive (peg stance, angle of the bike), but thats just me, other than that, it has 26xxx miles on it, and runs like a champ, still gets great gas mileage, no problems.

Historically they are the bottom rung of the Japanese foursome. Recently though they have stepped up their game w/ the ZX10R and the new 636. I'm sure if you go on a Kawi chat board they won;t agree w/ me.

I agree. Everyone now loves them because of the 10Rs great power/weight ratio. But really I think they're crap, just not as reliable as others.

Unreliable? I Took a Zx6R into a Lake at 40mph, Drained the water and it Fired up ready to race!
Pain to work on? Its the same **** with everybike, they all are about the same...Only reason i can think you would say that is beacuse Kawasaki is More advanced Then other companys and they have more technolgy!

I have a Yamaha, a Honda, a Suzuki, and a Kawasaki... and I don't think Kawasaki's products overall are inferior. If you want to get into specific examples with certain models... thats another thing. Every manufacturer has a few duds, even Honda.
One thing I will say- historically Kawasaki engines usually make more power than competitors models in the same class. If this ragging on Kawis is all just in fun, then I'm all for it! If its not, maybe there is a tinge of jealousy in it?
On some forums they rag on Hondas... one Suzuki forum I'm thinking of, you can't even say the word Honda. It censors it out!

Yup! Everyone (even Kawi Haters) will say that the newer generation Kawi's are almost the same quality as other Nippon brands but think again.
The new ZX-10R has a recall on ALL front wheels. Apparently, they found 4 bikes with hair line fractures on them which could lead to premature failure. Premature failure?!!
Dood, if my front wheel cracked coming out of a hard turn through the canyons, and I'm still alive from the crash, they're would be heads rolling at Kawasaki!
If my front wheel cracked landing from a wheelie and I went tumbling into a guard rail, and I lived to tell about it, I'd be one postal muthaphucka!
Now if I had died and had to watch my parents crying over my grave because of Kawi's POS engineering, I'd haunt tha **** outta those Kawasaki sons-of-bitches!!

Because it's not a 600 and is actually 636. You need to watch more World Supersport, so long as you can get used to the 600RR beating the **** out of every other bike out there.

Is there even a ZX6RR in the field? Let alone a factory backed one? I dont think so!
So stop watching that World Supersport Bullshit and Watch the American Boys in the AMA SuperSport class.... If i recall I think Kawasaki Was 1 and 2 in points? Haha
Put your 600RR on a 50lb diet and add some more Mid Range Power and you will have a nice bike, Untill then Honda needs to hit the drawing boards agian!

So what you mean is "if my bike broke while I was doing something stupid I'd have a convenient excuse to blame it on somebody else."
Although, I have to agree with you. Accelerated wear is a pretty unaccpetable happenstance. However, give Kawasaki credit, they're dealing with the situation properly. There's no need to get angry when a company is doing everything they can to rectify a screwup - you're supposed to get angry when they don't do anything. But that's an entirely different story.

Kawasaki's ZX6R isn't the fastest 600 in terms of quarter-mile speed anymore. The GSXR600 beats it by .10 seconds. Given a race track, though, the advantage definitely lies with the better rider. Or the more devious one who lets out the other rider's air...

i rag on them because i can!
no seriously, working at a custom bike shop that deals w/ imports and big twins every day, you really see what bikes tend to have problems on them time after time after time...
kawasaki
suzuki
in that order... honda's and yamaha's have far fewer problems with them over the long-run
also, untill the last year or 2, kawaksaki hasnt put anything good out... they havnt changed one thing about the zx7 in nearly a decade and it still pushes close to 500lbs on the scales!

Yes, but none of us race in World SS so that doesn't matter one bit.
You see, judging a bikes merit from the standings of a race series that are ridden by riders with more talent than you, how much sense does it make to declare a bike "superior" when you or I don't use it in that environment or have that level of skill?
Enjoying a nice road doesn't pose a challenge to any new sportbike, so from the riders perspective they are all equal performance wise. You simply cannot use all that bikes potential on the street so the minute advantages that one bike may have over another are moot.
It's really quite easy, buy the one that is most comfortable so you can actually enjoy riding it.

If you want to rag on the fact that kawi gives every other brand a head start by making them at least 50 lbs. heavier than any other bike read the sig....
My friend has an 01 gsxr 750 and we will f*ck around all the time and I walk on him every time we get on it.....this is for sure the fastest 750 that I've ever rode. It will even keep up with my bros 900rr and would be faster if the Kawi wasnt a damn pig. And the only reliablity problem with the older Kawis is the weak 2nd gear and thats not even on every Kawi, unlike every Honda have the damn CCT problem. IMHO Kawi is just as relaible as any other bike...it depends on the riders care/maintainence for the bike. That will ultimatly result in the longevity of the bike
