rain = project time
so i have had a little coolant leak for a long time that was never addressed becuase the place it was leaking is behind the frame, and under the throttle bodies. well it got real bad all the sudden, right around the time it started raining last week so i tore in, and while i was deep in there i decided to pull all the fairings off, clean the frame and subframe as well as the inside of the fairings. i also pulled all the touring stuff off and the passenger pegs because my spare seat and lid is in SF, and i have no time or money to tour this winter
so this is touring mode here: big windscreen, big bag mounts and stuff (note the large stock fender, yum)

stripped down

once i got the tank, airbox, and throttle bodies out i found 52,000 miles of road grime and sand that was attracted to the coolant that sat in this area. the two coolant hoses attatching the heads to the thermostat were both leaking, when you put hose clamps in places that are a bitch to get to, then tend to get neglected lol

drained the coolant, took apart the whole assembly, and cleaned the hell out of the hoses, thermostat, and the outside of the heads and valve covers. cleaned the throttle bodies, and airbox and put it all back together.
detailed the frame and subframe and rode her street fighter style:

no leaks, so i detailed the rest of the bike put her back together and got some shots of her clean before she goes back to commute duty.
the bike went into "sport" mode, painted and put on the stock windscreen, took off the hardbag brackets, the passenger pegs, and killed the fender. here is how she looks now
