There is something in the way of the fuel filter which I have to take out first. What is that??? There seem to be vacuum lines going into it.

Anyone have any scanned pages of service manuals of how to replace the fuel filter?

 

Fuel filter is something that I need to do on my car too. I'll be getting a Haynes manual soon so keep an eye out for me and I'll see what I can do for you.

 

The box bolted above the fuel filter has various vaccum soleniods like the EGR control, purge soleniod & the map sensor. Just unplug the connector, disconnect the vaccum line to the charcoal canister and remove the two 10mm bolts. Then you can swing it out of the way. Becareful not to break the fitting on the vaccum hose on the charcoal canister.
