I was informed earlier today that my ebay identity was hijacked and someone was trying to sell a CBR 1000 under the identity Marsbike, like my identity here. Presumibly, it is a stolen bike. I'm just giving everyone here a little head's up. The auction was cancled, but this guy might try it again...Thank you all.

my account has been suspended, so no activity has been allowed. Unfortunately, the person who hijacked my account also hijacked my email account...not good...and requested a change of password. I checked my emails, saw that it (the change of password request) was there, and when I opened my email account 10 minutes later, all of the ebay correspondances were in the trash...Strange...So, I have changed all of my passwords and will be reformatting my computer over the weekend.

nope. I never answer emails from people I don't know, or even from ebay. I only buy stuff, never sell. I have no idea how they got it. I do have a lot of spyware on my computer though
as I am searching through the system. There are 8 things in task manager that I close every day, and they come back in duplicates or triplicates. I've given up and decided to reformat. Maybe (gasp) even getting a mac or something.

Don't reformat, there is no point. After your reformat you will be infected again within the hour bewcause you didn't close the holes that got you infected in the first place. Listen carefully.
1. Go to microsoft.com and hit the update button on the left. Apply *ALL* of the security patches. This is the most important step.
2. Install and run this: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
3. Download and install Ad-A-Ware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Step #1 closes the holes, 2 & 3 get rid of the stuff you have. Easier than a reinstall, and you won't get hosed again if you check/apply patches regularly.

Dont use Internet explorer.... ever again. Go to mozilla.org and download mozilla 1.7 or firefox. It will take a little while to adjust, but it basically has all the same features. You might want to also run Iexterminator after mozilla imports all of your bookmarks.
Download and install spybot SD 1.2 also.... its free and it works well. Spybot should keep your computer from being hijacked. You can use an app called 'hijack.exe' to scan whats running on your computer. It scans for all the MSIE add on BHO crap also.
If you have a windows computer connected directly to your dsl or cable model, get a hardware firewall/router. They are rediculously cheap these days, theres no excuse not to have one. You're leaving yourself open to problems without one- even if you get a mac
get one of these.
Edited: Here's up to date security info on IE6:

I got some of the names wrong in my previous post. One is 'ieradicator.' Its just a small script that removes MSIE. Be careful, it also deletes your cookies, IE settings, favorites and some other stuff. The other is 'hijackthis' which scans for things and displays them in a list. Links:

Thanks for the heads up. I will forward this to my mac friends. One of them works for Apple.

Thank you all for the help. I will definately install everything I can to protect my computer (investment?). I already backed up my important and personal files onto an external hard drive, almost always disconnected from my computer now. If they want it, then they physicall have to come and get it. Thank you all again.

I'd also recommend doing a quick free online virus scan.

And maybe a firewall

Great links
I use housecall sometimes, but I prefer mozilla to opera. Chevy > Ford ? Blah.
Just like the mo1.7.2 layout better is all.
It seems opera is not quite as secure as mozilla at the moment?:
