I have a spare dashboard for my 97 civic that I plan to recover in black. What should I do about the passenger airbag? Its nasty tan right now, is it possible to recover the cover?

 

buy a block off and recover that, its already dark grey though

 

yeah I though about that but it raises many questions

1. Car accident would not be good for my friends/gf as passengers

2. My dad would be pissed. Not that its his car, its mine but still you can understand parents reaction.

3. Would that not cause a srs light to come on or even worse not operate the driver side airbag correctly?

 

yeah the srs light would come on, unless you had a ctr cluster yeah and your right about the passenger/parent thing. if i had harnesses i would feel safe though. good luck

 

i took mine out , but i have 4 points.

 

well, I am replacing everything or dying or painting everything in the car black or dark grey. I hate tan. I've already bought black seat belts and anchors and everthing from a si. I guess what I' asking is if anybody has ever seen how the passenger side airbag is contructed. Can I take the plastic tan or charcoal cover off, replace or dye it and re-install it?
