help build a 90 gs
Hello, (researching for friend who doesnt have an accoutn yet)
Im looking to put a b16 vtec head on my b18 but i read that it wasnt a good idea, something about the block isnt very good for vtec.
So what i am asking is what block/head combination should i start off with for the time being.
eventaully id like to replace the crank with a b17 crank when i replace the rods and pistons but stay with the block and vtec head.
can anybody recommend some builds for me, and possibly some pricing.
Thanks
sorry if i sound like an idiot, i dont know a whole lot, just mentioning some recomendations from friends and others and trying to get opinions and help. im looking for the best solution, not necessarily the fastest car, Thank you.
btw its a 90 integra GS but ill be running a chipped p28 with a conversion harness.
thank you again

Seriously, If you don't know much about building engine or even simple engine mechanics you should stay away from LS/VTEC until you know what youre getting done to the engine, and not just have someone slap it together for you. With all the money it takes to strengthen and run the correct clearances for high revvs as well as 8mm rod bolts and not the non-VTEC 7mm ones, you could buy a Motor, tranny and ECU of a VTEC B-Series. Just save $$$ and get a OBD1 JDM B16A 170 hp, or better yet a JDM B18C 180hp. Its about $3250 for a good clean B18C here in CA. Password, JHP, and HMO are in the LA area and ship nationwide.
