so a couple of days ago my motor started making a whine on the pulley side. its a original d15 motor and the timing belt was replaced about 2 or 3 months ago. took off alt belt and ac belt and tried it and still i think the timing belt is rubbing something or something else.. is this a serious problem.. anybody know what it is

thanks

Doesn't sound like a good thing. Take off the timing belt covers and have a looksee, perhaps there's something obvious.

maybe the bearing on your timing belt tensioner is busted.

ding ding ding!

Fix it quick...when that bearing locks up it will snap your timing belt. *speaks from experience*

Might be the alternator... I bought a new alternator and belt and it has a little squeal now. You should be able to locate where the sound is coming from. If it's behind that plastic get it fixed quick because like DAX said if something locks up in there it can cause a whole mess of trouble.

mmaaaannn, you jinxed my car. I was readin this at work and when i went to start my **** up it was whining jsut like what you're talkinga bout.

definitely mine is coming from under the timing cover. I can feel the vibration on the cover itself.

GAY.
