The tranny can become a lot stronger but with a rebuild from TRE or shepracing. I am getting my tranny done this summer at shepracing.

Most of the parts used are all oem. What happens a lot of the time on the launch is that the front diff will break. Most places offer to weld the diff, with the locking sleeve. Also steel shift forks seem to be helping. I have over 60 passes on my awd last year after the rebuild by Shep, still on stock axles, rear, and transfercase, and no problems whatsoever.
SEAN(GLAZER) should put an X-trac in that baby.
sux that they chopped up the tube chassis car they wrecked. woulda loved to see him run PRO RWD.
and DSM motor aren't that weak.......BRENT RAU ran a 7.30 something with his.....yeah...that seems pretty weak to me i guess....lol

It is a pretty well known notion that DSM != reliability.</TD></TR></TABLE>
They are as reliable as the owner or the person building it. Just like EVERY car.

I'm not the one that gave them the reputation...they did it all on their own.
I like DSM's, I was just clarifying what they guy above was saying. He never said they don't make tons of horsepower, he said they are unreliable. Its pretty much the same thing that 90% of DSM owners will tell you.
****, I remember somebody on this board having a sig something to the effect of "my eclipse is in its natural habitat, on jackstands". That about sums it up right there
Obviously none of this even applies to this car at all...again I was just clarifying what the above poster actually said because it was getting taken out of context.
