I am looking at purchasing a 6th generation Accord here in SoCal. Consumer reports says that ABS is a necessary accessory. What are the easy ways to inspect a vehicle and tell if it has ABS? So far i know: If it is an EX it is standard and possibly on others there is a ABS light in the gauge pannel.

 

it has ABS, trust me.

 

Are you the used car salesman I talked to saturday night? The LX trim did not have standard ABS and most cars did not have the upgrade. ( I suppose I could be wrong on this) but thanks for the quick response.

 

The ABS modulator is towards the lower left of this picture, without a number. It's located on the side of the engine compartment. I think it's got a big orange plug on the electrical harness.

Or... you could turn on the car. The ABS warning light in the cluster is supposed to light up for a couple seconds while it does it's self-checkout.
