I just bought a 85 CRX and i wanna swap in the B18 and turbo it. Im new into the import scene and i kno a lot about american muscle but i dont kno what to put on a CRX to make it fast. Any help would be appreciated. I kno that i have to put in new rods, lower compression pistons, and a new head gasket? is this right?

 

Good luck wedging a B18 under that tiny little hood. Let alone a turbo.

 

sell the 85 and at least get an 88. the first gens are rough for hybrid swaps.

 

B18 in a 1st gen... that's a squeeze.

If you really love the 1st gen I recommend trying a ZC. Those have been done and from what I've heard it's not impossibly hard, although requires fabrication.

Is your crx an si? If not I believe the wiring will be very difficult. Also how much power are you trying to make? In my opinion more than enough is possible with a turbo on a stock b18 engine in that light of a car.

 

well, i traded my buddy for an 88 CRX SI. my friend had 3 CRX's with blown up engines and he said i could trade the first gen for the secon gen. what all do i have to do to the motor to make it handle a t3/t3 turbo.
