Default LS bottom end with a GSR crank??

I'm thinking of building an ls/vtec on the side and my question is, is there any advantage of using a gsr crank? Or are the specs basically the same. Do they withstand the high revs better. Is it a direct bolt end with no modifications. Also I want to use aftermarket rods, but would you use ls length rods. rod bearings, main bearings, ls or gsr? Sorry for all the questions I just want to build it right, play every once in awhile but also commute to work. Thanks

gsr crank has a better rod ration so it puts less stress on the cylinder walls. if you use a gsr crank you have to use gsr rods and rod bearings ect. the set up you described is basically a gsr block with an oil line and oil squirters.

You will retain the gsr r/s ratio of 1.58:1, but remember...using a gsr crank means it's not a true "lsvtec".
