Gas Tank Drain Plug. Will Every Drop Be Removed? SUGAR!!!!
Long story short, Ive got sugar in my gas tank
I dont have my car infront of me (at grandparents) so Im wonderring
All Crx's have gas drain plugs right?
Now is the plug on the very bottom so every last bit of gas will be removed?
I just plan to siphon out as much as I can and then drian the rest into a bucket
Then Im gonna fill the tank with warm water atleast twice to flush and drain the sugar
Let me know guys

sure he will...just flush it very well with I would say more gas, while you have the drainplug open. I would then install the drainplug and put a few gallons of gas in and shake the car really good and then drain immediatly....I would actually do that a couple of times to be on the safe side.
Also, replace the fuel filter and maybe try running the fuel pump while the lines are disconnected, to flush the lines out.
my .02
good luck....
and remember to be nice to people and these things won't happen.

very good idea. if you flush with water, you might run very rough for a while. flush with gas, change the filter, run thru 1 full tank and change the filter again.

That's what I would do, but with the CAPS LOCK off.

Isnt the gas tank disgustingly hard to remove? I dont want to have to spend a lot of time on this because I have to paint the car this weekend as well (keyed)
Is the drain plug on the very bottom of the tank though? Just shake her, let her sit for a day and fill her up with 91 octane.....

its a proven fact that sugar does nothing to your gas tank but sit on the bottom and do nothing. it was on myth busters
. what you have to be worried about is bleach beacuse it is a oxadiser(SP)
and make it rust. dont worrie about hte sugar in there. yes you should get it out but its not going to effect anything. dont worry

Drop the tank and flush with water it is less time consuming and cheaper to drop a tank rather than replacing injectors. And if the tank gets shaken during driving and sucks up some sugar you are FUBAR'D
Well when Mythbusters did it, they did it completely wrong.
THe used a carbuerated engine, onlyiously no injectors. Nothing to ****
I just wanna know if the drain plug is on teh very bottom of the tnak so pretty much all will be removed
Thanks

letting all the water evaporate from the gas tank would take forever. i don't think its possible to let it all get out (especially having only 2 small holes for the vapor to escape) in under a month. if you wash it out with water, flush it out with gas several times. letting the water "dry" is lost cause.

yes the drain plug is on the very bottom of the tank it should be close to one of the corners if i remember right. but water doesnt take that long to dry but if you have an air hose you can blow most of the water out. good luck

That's not getting it all removed by draining it, though. He's never gonig to get it all out by just draining it.

I have personally disassembled a destroyed fuel pump from a Porsche 914 that had sugar in the gas tank. Everything was like caramel.

flush out w/ more gas, have gas cap off w. drain plug (by exhaust tip) gas will flow faster, jack car up really high or have very shallow container w/ funnel (very messy) if u must flush it a couple times, replace pump if it doesn't work ect...
Can we hear the whole story for entertainment purposes? Why did someone key your car and put sugar in the tank? Did you boink their mom or something cool like that?
