coilovers on 5th gen non SH
Hey, i have a 5th gen and am starting to upgrade my suspsension. I got a set of tokico illumina struts and dropzone coilovers. after i got the coilovers i read a forum( i think it was one on this website) saying that they weren't all that great and groundcontrol was teh way to go. I'm getting ready to return the dropzones. A while back i had gotten an Eibach pro kit which i haven't used yet. Could i still use the dropzone coilovers and just use my eibach springs instead of the ones they give you or should i just return the coilovers and get the ground control coilovers and use their springs and sell my eibach springs( i understand the ground control kit comes w/ their own eibach springs)? Sorry this question is so newbie don't hold it against me.
Yes, return the dropzone coilovers and get the GC. If your eibach springs is the exact springs on the GC's then all you need is the GC coilover sleeves.
BTW, GC = Ground Control

Right now i use it to go back and forth to work, eventually i'm hoping to make it a project and get a daily driver. The car only has like 52 thousand miles on it so the engine is in good shape still. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Sticky Tires »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Yes, return the dropzone coilovers and get the GC. Doesn't the GC coilovers come with eibach springs? i wouldn't need the ones i have then, would I?

A GC kit comes with ERS springs, but they may be different from your pro-kit. in fact, i'm sure they are. The honda OEM spring perch requires the spring to be shaped a certain way, which is different from the GC perch, so you couldn't use the GC's with the pro-kit. If they were just regular ol ERS springs, then all you'd need to do is buy the sleeves from GC's which would be cheaper.

I think i might just go with the Eibachs that i have now. You have to get the allignment readjusted everytime you change the height of the car right? Isn't that pretty expensive? also i don't know about the ground control kit but the dropzone coilover springs are like more than an inch smaller than the eibach springs i have now. IF the GC kit is like that wouldn't that lower my already and then have less travel in the spring for absorbtion? i dunno maybe i've got this concept all wrong in my head...
