in my opinion....i dont know if this tailors to what you need.....get a early 90's (90-93) integra. i found one around me with 150,000 miles for 2,000 dollars. drop a type r motor in from japan. youll be very happy and very sneaky....
if not, then it depend what you want from the car.

eclipse would be cool, cuase youve got a stock turbo to upgrade.
personally, i love my 2001 gsr...wouldn't trade it for anything, and i truly mean that....i turned down a 95 m3 for free to get my gsr.

good luck

Eclipse = Reliability Issues.
Cadillac = Your not a senior citizen.
Prelude = Nice look, Pretty quick.
VW = Always liked these cars...reliability/parts may be an issue?
BMW = Endless money pit with maintenance.
GSR = , sporty, many parts, reliable....
240SX = Nice body style, hard to find in good condition.
Maxima = Business man car....

The answers you get may be biased considering the forum this is posted on.

Anyways, my views on the cars stated.

Good luck with you final decision.

Default GSR

The best way to go is with the GS-R I have a 95 GSR and I love it. I have also owned an LS and either way you go its a win, win situation. Or you could get like a 2-3K hatch and drop a GSR engine or a B16 that would also be nice.

I've owned a SLC Corrado. Nice rare car. It was a poor man's porshe... but with your budget stay away, you're not gonna be able to afford it when **** hits the fan because of the rarity in parts. I had to get rid of it because monetary reasons...

hmm id go with the 240 sx as my first choice and drop in a sr20det but there pretty pricey, and then my next choice would be the gsr..

btw maxima's are pretty bad ***. my friend has one and lemme tell you what, he has a 96 maxima, cold air intake sounds mean as hell when your getting on it, and i mean it sounds MEAN. they have lots of power from the facotry, put a y pipe in there and you got some really good acceleration.... if you want more man go to http://www.custommaxima.com or its custommaximas.com not sure and check out there vid's on there you will be surprized

if you turned down a 95 M3 for free then you're a tard.

stay away from the eclipse, i had a GSX and it was in the shop more than on the road. 240sx's are a great value, they are dang cheap, dead nuts reliable, are pretty quick, and handle well. i had a 98 240sx se for a couple years. the GSR is a nice car and all, but it's overpriced. i wouldn't ever buy one except i got mine for $1500.

i'd go with the 240, RWD oWnZ j00.

I think the 97 style body Maximas are damn nice, get leather 5 spd man that thing is pimp. Otherwise I think you can get a good dc2 gsr for 7 Gs.

and your a large lump of poo with corn in it from the night before.....a 1995 m3.
so everytime something breaks...being its 9 years old...i have to wait for bmw to get their parts to a service center, then pay outrageous cause its a "luxury car company"....screw that...i made a nice choice and now im happy

2001 gsr
injen short ram intake, comptech 4-2-1 stainless steel headers, hks hi power exhaust, tein basic coilovers, carbon creations type r carbon fiber front lip, timing advance, brand new oem clutch, spoon reservoir covers, custom enclosed eclipse 12" sub with eclipse five channel amp powering my stock components, and an eclipse head unit.....

the point of that was, im a lot happier in that than a 9 year old beemer

I've owned BMWs, new or old, they really are very expensive to maintain, and evey time you bring it for some work, wow! They really hit you up! Unless you've got a second car to drive and deep pockets, well, then, no problem...

Peace Out
